MERGE TIMELINE LAYERS IN FLASH

ahh the old layer merge... fun times. all you need is a bit of creative problem solving
heres what i do in that situation:
1. copy all the frames of all the layers you want to merge
2. create a new Graphic object
3. paste the frames in there
4. go back to the main timeline, and bring the graphic in from the library, and put it on a new layer, in the right place
5. make sure the graphic is set to "play once" or "loop" (just not "single frame")
6. highlight the entire layer (or atleast all the relevant frames) and press F6 (ie. insert keyframe)
7. press the "edit multiple layers" thing on the bottom of the timeline, it looks like two blue squares overlapping.
8. stretch the bracket things out on the timeline so you are editing all the frames
9. make sure all the other layers are locked
10. ctrl + a
11. ctrl + b
congratulations, you just merged some layers together!!! booyah!
but remeber that itll automatically send non-grouped, non-object things to the back.

NOTE: i have only ever done this in the versions of flash from 3 to CS3, so theres a chance it wont work in CS4. but if it doesnt, it means adobe has royally fucked flash up and you should downgrade right away. booo adobe!

0) CONVERT LAYER FRAMES: CONVERT LAYERS FRAMES TO KEY FRAMES

1) LAYER ARRANGEMENT: CHECK HOW MANY FRAMES IN EACH LAYER

2) LAYER NAME CHANGE : GIVE NAME LAYER ACCORDING TO FRAMES NUMBERS SUCH AS IF LAYER

HAS 5 FRAMES GIVE LAYER NAME 5

3) LAYER ARRANGEMENT: FIRST ADD MORE MORE FRAME LAYER THEN LESS FRAME LAYER

4) MERGE LAYER TIPS : ADD 5 FRAME LAYER -------> 10 FRAME LAYER -------> 15 FRAME LAYER -------> 20 FRAME LAYER

5) FRAME LABEL TIPS : IF FRAME HAS LABEL GIVE SMALL NAME
